Young family life in Singapore
Posted by Aggers (36 days ago)
I am considering a move to Singapore with my family. I would like to be able to offer a level of comfort to my wife that a new career/life in Singapore with, what will be, a 6 month year old and a 2 year old...will be delightful. Can anyone help, I think the key questions are what family life is like in the heat (we're in the UK at the moment) i.e. what does everyone do during the day, medical support, mum's clubs etc

Hi Aggers,
There are plenty for kids to do in the S'pore, Sentosa, Bird Park, the zoo, the universal studio will be opening there soon, it really is a place for families, but you are from UK and personally don't think the heat is bareable for Europeans, I was in UK for 3 yrs, as soon as I landed in HK 2yrs ago, I wanted to pop back onto the plan with my daughter because of the heat in HK and S'pore will be hotter then HK. But family wise, it has plenty of facilities either for kids or the parents. Sorry, I can only give u general details, for medical support or mum's club, you would really have to do some searching on the web, good luck :)

I have been stayed in Singapore for 4 years and just moved to Hong Kong for 2 years.
I think Singapore is a good place to raising kids. More green, more space, more relax.
Hong Kong is good for adult, young man. but may not be good place for kid as a bit polluted and crowded.
Do consider Singapore!
Make a short trip to have a look and see if u will love it or not.

I had visited friends who live there many times. As a mother, I always envy them for being able to afford to rent nice big spacious houses in Singapore for their kids to run around freely. Yes, do consider Singapore. It has better water and air than in HK. Definitely a decent place for children.

Never lived in Singapore but I do find HK great for kids. Actually much better than Connecticut. No need to drive to play dates. Safer. Having a helper is great. Yes, we have less space but there are always other kids around and that is more important.
